Today is National Sunglasses Day!

June 27th is recognized as National Sunglasses Day. This day reminds us how important our sunglasses are to not only our eyes, but to our overall health.

Every day, millions of Americans choose to not wear sunglasses or any other form of ultraviolet (UV)-protective eyewear. While this may not seem that important, consider this: Would you take a trip to the beach or pool without applying sunscreen? Probably not a smart decision. The UV rays from the sun are capable of damaging your eyesight permanently if you don’t protect your eyes properly.

Sunglasses are basically sunscreen for your eyes. Do yourself a favor and get a good pair of sunglasses that will provide adequate UV-protection. Also, be a responsible friend and share this information with your family and friends.
